Follow-up Appointments
My 8 year old child recently broker her arm. After the break is immobilized by cast (and in her case, the pins are holding it in place inside the cast)what kind of activity is she allowed to do? Clearly no pressure or hard movements with the hand/arm, but I'm wondering does that limit her to things like jumping lightly on the trampoline. Obviously things like bike rides, etc. are out, but activities that don't hurt the hand/arm and don't risk serious injury, but are still child's play, are they fine within reason?
This is handled on a case by casis basis. Please call the office and ask for the nurse to find out what is appropriate for your child.

My daughter had a broken bone in her foot. She was in a walking boot for 6 weeks. She came in Thursday for a follow-up and was told she could stop wearing the boot. By Saturday, she has developed a rash over the top her her foot that was broken. Is this something that I should be concerned about or have looked at?
Please call the office to speak with the nurse. Thank you.
If I missed my appointment to be cleared for my ankle, will i get a call to reschedule it?
You're the greatset! JMHO
when is my appointment with Dr Stephen Johnson,8-2 or 8-3 @9:00?
I am bi-polar. My diagnosis came alittle late as in 1986 I drove my car into a tree. I was air lifted to Baylor University Hospital for reconstruction of my right hip. My surgeon was wonderful. He brought me books to try to read. As way leads on to way I came across Dr. Mahoney. I had been told at the reconstruction that I would need a total hip with in a year. With out insurance and a series of mental health hospitalizations there was no hope. I walked on that hip for 10 years. Dr. Mahoney gave me my first at age 35. It was like a new life. Mere words will never explain. I fell and dislocated October 20, 2001 and thus began a series of very unhappy occurances. I had to eventually spend 4 months with MRSA and removal of that precious hip. If you've never experienced it, the removal of your hip, what can you even say to me. I spent the following years with the PHARMICA EXPERIENCE. The combination of Zyprexa and Ability have not only increased my weight but have enduced Type II Diabetes. I realize that weight loss is necessary for a despirately needed knee replacement. I have lost 80 lbs. Monday, I fell from my wheel chair and crawled to let the police in to get me up. My right knee is shot...I mean gone. I've had alot of pain in my life but for Joe Hale to write me a prescription for a knee brace that WILL NOT FIT is quite frankly enough. Dr. Mahoney NEVER in those 4 months even stuck his head in to say Hi.Has the medical system of this country this far in the pits?

P.S. It's now 5:09 am and i just thought you should know, not that it makes any difference, but my granddaddy, my father, and my uncle have been going to Georgia games before most of you were born. I would suggest that if Care Medical is the best Athens can do then give the North Avenue Trade School a try...they've got pencils and everything. I bet if you had a linebacker with a bad knee you'd of already been on 316.Apparently Joe only gets the Medicare/Medicaid patients, I could see the detest for me in his eyes. I tried out the walker around my apartment since returning home and I'm tellin' you good ol' Boys, I'm gonna go down. Let's see now, walk on a destroyed knee for 10 long painful months so I can have even more fun with a knee replacement?!?!? After 26 years of more pain that any of you will ever live through...I must really dig it? Right? Right about now I'm sure you're thinking then why stay with us? Let's see how it goes...um ye dance with one that brung ye. You've not heard a peep from me in 5 years. I'm not some slug who's in and out of there hurtin' here and there. I know all I need to know about pain and when I say I hurt like hell I Ain't Just Whistlin' Dixie. Hell I am Dixie. So pat Joe on the butt and send him back to Medical Assistant School cause he needs more schoolin'.
Hi I had wrist surgery done by Mr. Shuller in Feb. of 2010. In the lst approx. 4 months I started to have pain in same wrist again. These last two weeks it has gotten worse and today it really went to hurting causing pain in bottom of wrist and down thumb. Cant pick up anything much with it and it seems like it's not even my hand today. ( wierd ) Is this common? What can I do about it? Do I need to make an appoinment with him? Any Info you can give me would be greatly appreciated. (via email as my info has changed.)
Thank You,
Pam Mccollum
