What is a Certified Athletic Trainer?

Certified athletic trainers (ATCs) are unique health care providers.

ATCs can be found in a variety of work settings, including secondary schools, colleges and universities, professional sports, sports medicine clinics, hospitals and physicians' offices, the military, occupational workplaces, performing arts and youth sports and recreation.
