Julie grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin which makes her a Green Bay Packer fan. Prior to moving to Georgia she worked for the Allina Healthcare system for 15 years as an Occupational Therapist. Julie advanced her clinical work at Abbott Northwestern Hospital/Sr. Kenny Institute in Minneapolis, MN where she gained clinical experience with brain injury, spinal cord, neurological, orthopedic, amputee, arthritis, cardiac, pulmonary, and multiple trauma patients.
She accepted the Rehabilitation Director position at Union General Hospital in Blairsville, GA in 2006 which gave her the opportunity to live closer to her parents. As the Director of Rehabilitation at UGH for 8 years she developed the program to include PT, OT and ST services in acute care, out-patient, aquatic therapy, home care and nursing facility settings.
Julie joined the AOC therapy team in March of 2015 as the Program Director of Occupational Health Therapy. After achieving her Specialty Certification with Ergo Science in Functional Capacity Evaluations she initiated the Work Conditioning program. Everyday she using her expertise in evaluating client’s functional ability as it relates to their job demands. She use her past experience to problem solve how to simulate their work setting and maximize their experience in order to return to work. She believes motivation and encouragement as being a key in the successful advancement of her clients
Outside of work Julie enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends. She loves golfing, gardening, kayaking, and most of all traveling to visit her family out of state.
